IELTS Speaking Exam Secret

IELTS Speaking Exam Secret: Among the four sections of the IELTS, the Speaking section is often considered the most challenging by many test-takers. However, with the right strategies and techniques, you can excel in this section and achieve a band score of 8 or higher. This blog will reveal an IELTS Speaking secret to help you achieve your desired band score.

The IELTS Speaking test can be a challenging experience, especially when it comes to Parts 1 and 3.

Part 1 of the IELTS Speaking test assesses your ability to answer general questions about yourself and your life. Part 3, on the other hand, is designed to evaluate your ability to express your opinions and ideas on abstract topics.

We are constantly asked this question. What is the secret to IELTS Speaking?

Her is the secret;

Two long points or 3 short points

This is the secret to IELTS speaking Part 1 and 3

When we talk about parts 1 and 3, 2 points for 1 and 3 points for part 3 guarantee that you fulfil your task response mark because, in many tests, the examiners feel you have not answered the whole question, so ensure you have them done.

It also gives you structure because now you know you have to make one point and then the other so that you will use suitable connectors, i.e., furthermore, Likewise, Secondly, Moreover, also.

With the three points, again, you should use connectors. You could even conclude with three points because it will be a long answer. It is like a small story you are telling.

Examples 1

“What is your favorite past time.”

Two long Sentences

My favorite pastime is playing video games on my phone, including video games involving aggression. However, most are limited to building empires such as candy crush. Furthermore, what I love most is that it distracts me from my world, which is my reality; it distracts me from work which again needs a break.”

You can see the above Two long points have explained the details; a long point means two long sentences.

Example 2

“What are some pros of technology.”

Two long points: The first obvious pro is the communication barrier being moved, how we speak to people broadly, and how we instantly transfer messages and connect to video calls.   That is an excellent development in human society. Moreover, technology help in e-commerce, e-commerce includes sales as well as online transactions and investments, has dramatically helped develop businesses, and has made people great deals lately, which is what I appreciate about Technology.

Three short points;

Technology helps people do e-commerce in businesses and trading, which is great for finances.

It also assists people in communication, no matter if they are on the road.

Finally, it is a way for people to have fun with apps tik-tok youtube.

The above three short sentences will give you the same amount of marks.

I always find two points to be better; I know the examiners would feel the same way. Quality is always better than quantity, so making two points with more explanation will give you more points, and you don’t have to overthink. I recommend two sentences, but you can proceed if you feel comfortable with three points.

This is your golden gate to getting an 8 + bands

Here are some tips for excelling in both parts of the test.

Part 1:

  • Be prepared: Before the test, prepare a list of common questions likely to be asked. Practice answering them using different tenses and vocabulary.
  • Use examples: When answering questions, use examples from your own life to illustrate your points. This will make your answers more exciting and engaging.
  • Avoid one-word answers: Try to give detailed explanations rather than one-word responses. This will demonstrate your ability to speak fluently and coherently.
  • Keep it simple: Don’t use complicated vocabulary or grammar structures you are uncomfortable with. Stick to what you know and use simple language to manage efficiently.

Part 3:

  • Listen carefully: Make sure you understand the question before answering it. If you don’t understand the question, ask the examiner to repeat or clarify it.
  • Take time to think: Don’t rush into answering the question. Take a few seconds to gather your thoughts and organize your ideas.
  • Express your opinions: Part 3 questions often require you to express your opinions on abstract topics. Don’t be afraid to tell your point of view and give reasons to support it.
  • Use examples: Just like in Part 1, use examples from your own life or experiences to illustrate your point. This will make your answers more exciting and engaging.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for clarification: Ask the examiner to clarify if you are unsure about a question or how to answer it.
